How to Make Vinegar and Salt Wings with Malt Vinegar and Ranch Seasoning



Just one thought of opening a bag of salt and vinegar chips and BAM! My mouth starts watering. The salty and tangy flavors are so satisfying that I just knew I had to transfer them over to a delicious game day snack.

White wine vinegar is a sweet, fruity, and mild vinegar made from fermented white wine. When used in the and sauce, it gives your wings the classic tangy flavor of salt and vinegar chips but without the lip puckering.


A mixture of cornstarch and salt will coat the wings before they're baked. They work together to dry out the wing and form a crispy coating on the outside. The longer you let the wings sit in this coating, the better!


Bake the wings on a wire rack on top of a baking sheet. This will circulate air in and around the wings, making sure each bite becomes extra crispy. If you were to just place them on a rimmed baking sheet, the wings would steam and turn out soggy.


Alternately, you can bake the wings in a 450 degree oven for 30 minutes until crispy. Spray the tops of the wings with cooking oil or baking spray before baking. For extra crispiness, you can broil the wings for 2-3 minutes after baking.


This is one great recipe. We used fresh Purdue whole wings instead of packaged frozen little ones (or any other brand of fresh) and doubled the recipe x 5-6. Fry them 6 minutes, drain and add the malt vinegar and salt. Total heaven.


These were great! We too love BDubs salt n vinegar wings and these are by far, better. Thanks so much for the simple easy recipe. I also adapted it to do a lemon pepper wing. I seasoned them the same then did fresh squeezed lemon juice instead of vinegar and fresh ground pepper instead of salt. The family love them!


Toss wings in olive oil, salt and pepper. Place on wire rack over a baking sheet. This will allow for air distribution under the chicken wings to ensure crisping at all angles. Bake at 400 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.


These wings can also be served for a quick and simple lunch. To make a full meal with these low carb salt and vinegar chicken wings, you can easily pair them with a green salad or even roasted vegetables such as brussels sprouts, mushrooms or green beans. If you require sauce for dipping the wings, we recommend an avocado mayonnaise, blue cheese dressing,or sugar free bbq sauce as they are both considered to be keto friendly. Keto ranch dressing also pairs well with these salt and vinegar wings if you prefer a bit of a kick.


There are various combinations you can use to season wings. However, our favorite way to season them is by adding salt and vinegar as it has the perfect balance and combination of different flavors. Salt and vinegar is used as a seasoning for a lot of different foods. These include chips, popcorn, and as in this recipe, chicken wings. Salt and vinegar seasoning can be made in various ways. In this recipe we mix and combine salt, vinegar and garlic powder. The vinegar makes it a wet seasoning mix, making it resemble marinade.


This recipe uses apple cider vinegar but white vinegar also works well for chicken wings. Apple cider vinegar has health benefits and it may also give the party wings a slightly different color. You can also try experimenting with white wine vinegar or rice vinegar. Restaurants typically use malt vinegar. However, you can use whichever you prefer or have at hand at the time.


Party wings can be either drumettes or wingettes. Drumettes start from the part of the wing that is attached to the main part of the chicken. Drumettes typically have one main bone in the middle and some joints and cartilage on both ends. The meat on drumettes is dark, but it is closer to white meat and drumettes have a lot of meat compared to skin. On the other hand, wingettes are the middle part of the wing. They are flat in shape and have two thin bones rather than one big bone. The bones go all the way down the length of the wingette. The meat on wingettes is tender and dark and they are completely covered with skin.


If you prefer to use an air fryer to make these keto salt and vinegar wings instead, this recipe will still work. Cooking wings in the air fryer is even quicker than if you were to bake them in the oven so make sure to watch the time. Wings cooked in the air fryer will still get the same crispiness, so no need to worry about that! All you need to do is follow this simple method:

The key to super crispy baked wings is all in the preparation. For starters, it is imperative that you get the wings as dry as possible before baking then. The next crucial step is tossing them in baking powder. Lastly, the two-step, two-temperature baking method completes the crispy wing trifecta


If you are looking for an air fryer chicken wing recipe, this will definitely work. Just follow all of the instructions up until the point of baking the wings. From there, simply follow the instructions for your particular air fryer in terms of cooking time and temperature. Not only will it likely be quicker, but you are still guaranteed to get super crispy chicken wings.


They sure can be! To make this the perfect Whole30 appetizer recipe, simply omit the erythritol. The wings will still turn out as delicious as ever and you can keep marching right through your Whole30 with a new wing recipe in your back pocket. But don't actually put the wings in your pocket... that would be messy!


Winner winner chicken dinner! Very good but I didn't taste alot of salt and vinegar and I marinated it almost 48 hours (didn't plan on that long but other dinner plans came up) It tasted very good.! I know I've said it before but I really love my Air Fryer. It's something I never thought I'd buy yet we use it every single day. My husband and I both liked the Air Fryer wings best! I like that they taste like chicken and aren't super greasy like traditional wings.


With that said, these Air Fryer Salt and Vinegar Wings are a new favorite. They are perfect for Game Day because they aren't too messy. However, I did end up pouring some hot sauce of a few of them which really added an awesome flavor. These wings get their flavor from a vinegar brine. It soaks into the wings and gives them plenty of flavor.


While they aren't kick you in the pans Salt and Vinegar Wings they are still really flavorful. The Sour Cream and Onion dip that has vinegar in it really brings out the flavor. You could also make a vinegar and butter mixture to pour over top of the wings for the last few minutes of Air Frying.


However you make them, these wings turn out deep golden brown and super crispy. They are just a bit salty and have a hint of vinegar. Like I said the sour cream based dip which has vinegar in it gives the wings the kick they need to make them a great appetizer or even dinner.
